NEW ENGLAND DISCOVERY

Students Discover Plymouth, Boston, Lexington-Concord, and New York City

First stop…Plymouth, Massachusetts, where in 1620 was home to the Pilgrims. Explore Plimoth Plantation, a living history museum where students can talk with costumed role-players who portray the Plymouth colonists going about their lives. Also discover a different perspective of the colonists at the Wampanoag homesite. On the water front students will board the Mayflower II, a full scale reproduction of the 17th century sailing vessel that made the famous voyage in 1620.

Next stop: the city of Boston, the birth place of freedom. Follow the Freedom Trail and explore Old South Meeting house, Faneuil Hall, Old North Church, Paul Revere's home, USS Constitution, and Bunker Hill Monument. Students will participate in interactive programs as they travel through the city. 

Students travel to Lexington and Concord known for the beginning of the American Revolution. Visit the Minute Man National Historical Park and explore the North Bridge where Colonial militia fired the famous "shot heard around the world". On Battle Road students will experience a living history center at Hartwell Tavern, a restored 18th century tavern that will give a glimpse into Revolutionary times. 

The last stop of your Discovery is the exciting Big Apple, New York City. Take a ferry where in the Harbor stands the symbol of international friendship: the Statue of Liberty. Continue on to Ellis Island where over 22 million immigrants came to our shores. Visit Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Times Square, and see a Broadway show.
