Please note that all of our group leaders/teachers create their own customized travel experiences and are the best local resource for questions on rooming lists/behavior policies and your group/school specific itinerary. Q: I am an educator/group leader/home school parent that would like to create a travel experience for my group who do I need to contact to begin the process?
A: Please call our office at 858-674-6979 or email us at email@example.com and give us some of the details about your group and the tour you would like to plan. It normally takes about 24 – 72 hours to put an itinerary and cost together for a group based on the complexity of the itinerary and area you wish to visit.
Q: I am a parent that needs to register my student for a LEAD USA Discovery how do I register my student?
A: In early 2019 there will be an online registration portal on our website until then please see your teacher/group leader to pick up a registration packet. Please fill in the registration form and send the form and deposit to our office here in San Diego. LEAD USA 16870 W. Bernardo Drive, Suite 400, San Diego, CA 92127. Q: I have sent in my registration form and deposit what happens next?
A: In 10 business days you will receive your first billing statement and and welcome letter outlining our payment program and ways to make payments to your account. If you have paid in full you will receive a statement showing your account paid in full. If you have any other questions for reservations or accounting please contact them at email@example.com.
Q: I need to make a payment for a LEAD USA tour participant can I do that online or how can I make that payment?
A: In early 2019 we will be able to take payments online. Right now the best way to pay is to send a check or money order to the LEAD USA office. LEAD USA 16870 W. Bernardo Drive, Suite 400, San Diego, CA 92127. If the payment is due TODAY just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know you are sending the payment in and accounting will add a note to your record.
Q: Can I make a credit card payment?
A: You can make a credit card payment, we accept VISA and MASTERCARD only and there is a 4% fee to handle the payment. Please note that these payments must be sent to our office address using your current monthly statement or emailed to us at email@example.com. We will begin to accept online payments in early 2019.
Q: I have a question about the rooming list and how people will be assigned their rooms?
A: Please direct all rooming list questions to the group leader/teacher in charge of your group they are in charge of the rooming list process and submission to LEAD USA. LEAD USA does NOT create rooming lists for groups.
Q: The Group is traveling on an airline where I have a Frequent Flyer number can I use this number on my booking to collect my miles?
A: Yes you can. Please provide this number along with you’re the name on the Frequent Flyer account via email to our operations department at firstname.lastname@example.org and we would be happy to add it for you.
Q: I have a TSA Number that allows me to go through Pre- Check at Airport security can I use this number when I travel with the group?
A: Yes provide us the number along with the name of the traveler via email to email@example.com and we will have this number added to your airline ticket?
Q: The Group is staying at hotels where I participate in a loyalty program can I collect points for my stay while traveling with the group?
A: Unfortunately do to our net rates with the hotels they will not be able to give you points for your stay. They will however count it toward a night stay with no points with most loyalty programs, they will also honor any perks, like free internet etc. if you present your card after the group checks in. Please note the name on the rewards card must match the person staying in the room. Students cannot use or present their parents card.
Q: I am a parent and I would like to chaperone my student on the tour can I do this?
A: Each teacher/group leader/school/group has a different policy on adult chaperones. Please contact the person in charge of the tour for your group/school to receive their policy on chaperones traveling with students.
Q: I am a parent and I have questions about the behavioral policies/ expectations of the students/adults on the tour who should I speak with?
A: Because each teacher/group leader/school/group has different behavioral policies and expectations you will need to reach out to the person in charge of the tour for your group/school to receive their current behavior policy and/or group behavioral expectations.
Q: I have booked a tour for myself/my student and I am wondering when we will receive information on the weather, packing list, and cell phone policies prior to travel?
A: Each group/school will have a meeting approximately 4 to 6 weeks prior to travel. At this meeting the group leader will usually go over things like the behavioral policy, packing list and cell phone policy per their school/group expectations. Weather conditions can always be looked up at www.weather.com by searching the places visited to see the current weather trends and conditions.
Q: I have or my student has a food allergy or needs other accommodations regarding meals who should I speak with and can you accommodate us?
A: LEAD USA takes great pride in being able to provide group meals for all kinds of food allergies and specialty diets. If you have a food allergy we do require a note no older than 90 days from a doctor specifically outlining the allergies and that note should be given to the teacher/group leader and LEAD USA. If you have a food preference like gluten free, or are a vegetarian or vegan we are able to provide choices at every meal but remember this is group travel and the choice provided may not be what you are used to eating. That being said we are usually able to assist everyone who comes to us in advance and is specific with their dietary needs. Please contact us at least 60 days in advance regarding your meals if you need special accommodations. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: Is travel insurance included in the cost of my tour?
A: All Discoveries/tours over 4 days long have POST Departure Travel Insurance included in your cost. This insurance covers medical issues and trip delay or interruption once the tour begins. If you would like to purchase cancellation insurance for your tour please contact us at email@example.com
Q: Is there a discount for paying off my Discovery in full?
A: Yes there is a 4% discount for paying your Discovery off in full at the time of registration by check or money order.
